The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced that the breakout session “Trailblazing Without Borders” will headline its Annual General Conference in Enugu on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Belema Orubapo to Moderate
Belema Orubapo, Associate at Sammie Somiari & Associates, will serve as moderator. She is an accomplished lawyer with expertise spanning litigation, intellectual property, entertainment, property, environmental, and human rights law. Orubapo’s experience equips her to guide the conversation with precision and dynamism, ensuring participants gain actionable insights.
Isaiah Bozimo, SAN as Lead Speaker
Isaiah Bozimo, SAN, Partner at Broderick Bozimo & Company, will deliver the lead address. He is Vice President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and a reformer whose global reputation rests on his expertise in cross-border disputes.

Chinenye Uwanaka on Legal Innovation
Chinenye Uwanaka, CEO of The Firma Advisory, is an innovative lawyer and social entrepreneur. She combines corporate practice with public policy, supported by training from the University of Essex and Harvard Kennedy School. Her pro bono projects and leadership of Africa Policy Conversations highlight her passion for justice and youth empowerment. She also co-chairs the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund, steering millions in grants toward youth development.
Abdulrauf Tijjani Aboki on Young Lawyers’ Leadership
Abdulrauf Tijjani Aboki, Senior Associate at Y.C. Maikyau & Co, will share his practical journey. A former Chairman of the NBA Young Lawyers Governing Council and board member of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, Aboki is recognized for his contributions to banking, commercial law, and arbitration. His decade-long career emphasizes innovation, welfare reforms, and mentorship.
Rita Anwiri Chindah on Technology and Intellectual Property
Rita Anwiri Chindah, Lecturer in Private and Property Law at Rivers State University, will join the session as a panelist. She is an intellectual property and technology law expert with degrees from Madonna University and the University of Derby, UK. Globally recognized among WIPR’s “Influential Women in IP Trailblazers,” Chindah also hosts the IPSERIES podcast, where she leads conversations on creativity, arbitration, and legal innovation. Her unique blend of academia, arbitration, and media law makes her a strong voice on how lawyers can adapt to change.
Nosa John Garrick on Global IP and Trade Practice
Nosa John Garrick, Senior Partner at F.A. Garrick & Co., will also feature as a panelist. With over 14 years of experience, Garrick leads practice areas spanning intellectual property, technology, media and entertainment, and international trade. He has received global recognition, including Intellectual Property Expert of the Year in Nigeria (2021) and inclusion in MIPAD’s 100 Most Influential People of African Descent in Law & Justice (2022).
Holding an LL.M. in International Trade and Commercial Law with distinction from Durham University, he is also a Chartered Mediator and Conciliator.
