Trump Vows To End Birthright Citizenship And Deport Undocumented Immigrants

In his first formal television interview since the November election, President-elect Donald Trump reaffirmed his commitment to hardline immigration policies, including the termination of birthright citizenship and the deportation of undocumented immigrants.
Speaking on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Trump insisted that all individuals residing illegally in the United States would face deportation. When asked if this applied to everyone living without legal status during his upcoming term, he stated firmly, “You have to do it.”
Trump also reiterated his pledge to eliminate birthright citizenship, a right currently protected by the U.S. Constitution. He suggested this could be achieved through executive action, describing the provision as “ridiculous.”
“If we can, through executive action, we will end it,” Trump declared, signaling a potential legal and constitutional challenge to his plans.
In addition to immigration, Trump took aim at NATO, warning that the U.S. might leave the alliance unless member nations fulfill their financial commitments.
“They have to pay their bills,” Trump told reporters, emphasizing that the U.S. could “absolutely” reconsider its participation if allies do not contribute fairly.
Trump’s remarks have sparked intense debate over the feasibility and legality of his proposed measures, setting the stage for contentious policy battles as he prepares to take office.
