Tinubu Orders Armed Forest Guards To Reclaim Nigeria’s Forests From Terrorists And Kidnappers

President Bola Tinubu has approved the creation of a special armed unit to protect Nigeria’s forests. The new force will secure the country’s 1,129 forest reserves from terrorists, kidnappers, and criminal gangs.
The unit will be trained and equipped to flush out criminals who use forested areas as hideouts. This initiative aims to restore safety and control over Nigeria’s vast forest lands.
The effort is a collaboration between federal and state governments. The Office of the National Security Adviser and the Ministry of Environment will oversee its implementation.
Thousands of young Nigerians are expected to be recruited into the forest guard unit. This move will create jobs and strengthen national security.
President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s firm commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s territory. He warned that terrorists and bandits will not seize any part of the country’s land, including forests.
“Nigeria will take back its forests,” Tinubu declared, emphasizing the urgency of reclaiming these areas from criminal control. The forest guard initiative is a key step toward achieving this goal.
Kidnappers and insurgents have long exploited the forests as safe havens. This new security measure will disrupt their operations and restore public confidence in affected communities.
By deploying armed forest guards, the government hopes to prevent future attacks and improve environmental protection. The combined focus on security and conservation highlights the importance of Nigeria’s forests for national stability.
President Tinubu directs a major strategy shift, aiming to actively control forested regions instead of passively monitoring them. This promises to enhance safety across vulnerable parts of the country.
