The Faculty Of Law Is Not A Brothel…Let Us Breathe: Female Unical Law Students Protest Against Dean Of Faculty, Prof. Ndifon [VIDEO]
There is palpable tension at the University of Calabar, after female law students of the institution called out their faculty Dean, professor Cyril Ndifon for sexually exploiting and harassing them.
In a video shared by a Twitter user @OurAreaDotCom, the female students and their male colleagues were seen protesting in front of the Law faculty.
The protesting students also displayed placards with disturbing inscriptions like, “We are tired of sucking d**ks”, “Professor Ndifon, let the girls with big breast breathe. Stop suffocating us”, “Enough of law school list manipulation”, “Prof Ndifon must go for our sanity”,
The Metro Lawyer (TML) recalls that Prof. Ndifon was previously removed from his position as Dean of Law over allegations of rape in 2016. Ndifon was on August 29, 2015, accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old 400-level student (name withheld) in his faculty after ordering her to his office. Following the development, authorities of UNICAL suspended the dean from office. The suspension was to last until he was completely exonerated from the allegations.
However, according to reports, University of Calabar (UNICAL) reappointed him as the Dean of its law faculty in 2022.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the powers that be at the University of Calabar are making concerted efforts to intimidate the students after exposing professor Ndifon sexual misconducts.
At the time of filing this report, authorities at the University are yet to issue a statement in respect to the development.
