The Caliphate Bar (NBA Sokoto) Endorses YC Maikyau, SAN As Her Sole NBA Presidential Candidate Come 16th July, 2022
Friends of Y.C Maikyau, SAN on the 11th Day of July, 2022 organized a breakfast show in his honour at Dankani guest house in Sokoto where over 200 Lawyers were in attendance.
It was a memorable reunion for the Learned Silk, who started his legal practice in Sokoto over 30 years ago and still maintains a functional law firm in the seat of the Caliphate.
Those who spoke during the event poured encomiums on the Learned Silk for his mentorship qualities and his positive impacts on the legal practice in Sokoto particularly and Nigeria in general; they said that he is the right man for the NBA Leadership especially at a time in our nation’s history when we need a strong and fearless Bar that will speak the truth to power.
The positive contributions he has made to the growth of Law and welfare of lawyers were not left out.
Young Lawyers of the Branch recalled and thanked him for coming to their aid during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and other incentives even before he nursed the ambition of contesting for NBA PRESIDENT.
The Branch expressed her unalloyed support for his ambition and unanimously endorsed him as their sole candidate for NBA President 2022-2024.
The motion was moved by a very senior member of the Caliphate Bar and was seconded by the whole house. While formalizing this secondment, the Chairman of the Caliphate Bar, Mr. Muhammad Nuhu expressed that NBA Sokoto branch didn’t endorse Y. C. just because he is one of them but also because over the years, he has exhibited his leadership zeal and compassion for welfare and wellbeing of lawyers.
He concluded that YC Maikyau, SAN is the best for the position of NBA President and need not to campaign as it is a known fact.
In his response, Y.C Maikyau, SAN who was overwhelmed by the massive support given to him by the Branch, thanked the Branch for the honour and pledged not to disappoint the NIGERIAN BAR when given the mandate to lead vide the election of 16th July, 2022.
