Teyojesam Eko Appointed Senior Special Assistant (Media) To President Of African Bar Association

The President of the African Bar Association (AfBA), High Chief Ibrahim Eddy Mark, has appointed Mrs Teyojesam (TJ) Eko as his Senior Special Assistant (Media).
In a statement announcing the appointment, High Chief Ibrahim Eddy Mark commended Eko’s achievements in legal media, particularly her success in co-publishing an online law blog, The Metro Lawyer (TML) consistently for a number of years. “Your outstanding and noteworthy contributions in legal media have been recognised. It is assumed that you will bring your rich vein of knowledge to bear on this appointment,” he stated.
A seasoned legal professional, TJ Eko was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2003 and has extensive experience spanning litigation, banking, maritime law, and corporate practice. She started building her career milestones in the legal sector, cutting her teeth with the law firm of Y. C. Maikyau & Co., before transiting into banking. She holds a Master’s degree in International Maritime Law and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration; and has served in various legal and public service capacities.
As a founding partner of The Metro Lawyer, she has been instrumental in legal news reporting and advocacy.
Teyojesam Eko is also an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), having contributed to several committees and initiatives aimed at advancing the legal profession.
Her appointment is expected to enhance AfBA’s media engagement and visibility across the African legal community.
