DSS Releases Bawa After 134 Days In Custody

Former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa has been released from jail, the Department of State Services has announced.
The EFCC held Bawa for over four months after he was suspended for “weighty allegations of abuse of office”.
According to DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya, Bawa was released on Wednesday.
It read, “DSS confirms release of former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, a few hours ago (today 25th October, 2023)”.
Bawa reunited with family and friends amid fanfare.
