Kano Court Registrar Demoted Over Illegal Transactions

The Kano State Judiciary has announced disciplinary actions against Hudu Idris, a court registrar at the Upper Sharia Court, over his involvement in illegal transactions. Idris has been demoted by one grade level and placed on compulsory retirement with immediate effect, while a security guard, Abba Gwarzo, had his contract appointment terminated.
According to Kano State Judiciary spokesperson, Baba Jibo, the action followed an investigation into a petition filed by Alhaji Bozo, where the accused individuals admitted to receiving a bribe.
In a separate development, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has lifted the suspension of three officials—Bilya Abdullahi, Auwalu Khalil, and Ismaila Garba—due to insufficient evidence regarding an alleged forgery of a court reversal order. However, they were issued a stern warning to refrain from unethical practices.
Additionally, the JSC has approved key managerial appointments, including:
Chief Magistrate Hajara Ahmad – Appointed Acting Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice.
Musa Umar – Appointed Acting Deputy Chief Registrar (Administration & General Services) of the High Court of Justice.
Chief Magistrate Hadiza Bello – Appointed Acting Director of the Judicial Service Commission.
The Kano State Judiciary reiterated its commitment to upholding integrity and accountability within the legal system.
