The Nigeria Police Force has officially arraigned singer Speed Darlington following his arrest in November 2024.
One of his lawyers, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the development in a post on X, stating that the court has granted the singer’s bail application and efforts are underway to meet the bail conditions.
Speed Darlington was taken into custody last month after allegedly jumping bail. He is being investigated following a petition by fellow artist Burna Boy, who accused him of defamation.
The case stems from a video released by Speed Darlington in December 2023, in which he alleged that Burna Boy won a Grammy award after “bending” for music mogul Diddy.
Adeyanju assured supporters that steps are being taken to ensure the singer’s release as soon as the bail conditions are perfected.
