“My Brother, Abeg Rest” – Nigerian Muslim Lawyer Reacts To Advice Against Accepting Christmas Gifts

Nigerian lawyer Rahmatulai has humorously responded to a post by one King Maalik, who advised Muslims not to accept Christmas gifts, including rice, chicken, money, and other items shared during the festive season.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 24, Rahmatulai shared her reaction to the controversial advice.
“So, I happened on a post by my Muslim brother warning us not to accept Christmas food. I didn’t mind that because me like this, I’m on a strict diet. But when oh boy said including money, I off phone. The 100k, 200k, and 50k my Christian besties sent that has already entered voice mail nko? My brother, abeg Rest,” she wrote.
Her lighthearted response quickly gained attention online, sparking discussions about interfaith relationships and cultural exchanges during festive periods.
Rahmatulai’s post underscores the spirit of unity and mutual respect shared among many Nigerians, regardless of religious or cultural differences, particularly during the holiday season.
