Senior Advocate Chris Ehumadu Okeke Urges Young Lawyers To Uphold Professionalism
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Chris Ehumadu Okeke has called on young lawyers aspiring to achieve senior advocate status to remain diligent and consistent in their legal careers. Speaking during a celebration marking his conferment as a SAN in Lagos, Okeke emphasized the importance of using the law as an instrument for societal transformation and progress.
“Young lawyers need that knowledge and must remain consistent. More importantly, the law should be viewed not as an end in itself, but as a means to foster a progressive society,” Okeke advised.
Reflecting on his journey to the peak of his career, Okeke, expressed gratitude for the recognition. “I have contributed significantly as a lawyer, engaging in building, developing, and re-engineering the legal space. Achieving this milestone, despite the challenges, is truly rewarding,” he noted.
Maritime law expert Osuala Emmanuel Nwagbara praised Okeke, calling him a trailblazer whose expertise as a SAN would greatly influence the legal profession. “He truly deserves this recognition. If more individuals like him are elevated to SAN status, it would enhance the Nigerian legal landscape in terms of knowledge, value addition, and societal impact,” Nwagbara remarked.
