Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Hosts FIDA, Pledges Continued Support For Women’s Rights

 

 

On Tuesday, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the Senate, welcomed the Nigerian chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) to her residence in Abuja. The delegation, led by FIDA’s National President, Amina Suzanah Agbaje, met with the senator to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at advancing the rights of vulnerable women and children in Nigeria.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, known for her strong advocacy for women’s rights and social justice, reaffirmed her dedication to gender equality and the empowerment of women across the country.

“This partnership with FIDA Nigeria is vital in our shared mission to protect and uplift the rights of women and children,” she stated.

Key topics during the meeting included increasing women’s participation in politics, addressing gender-based violence, and promoting economic empowerment for women.
