Sean “Diddy” Combs Faces Growing Allegations Of Sexual Misconduct As 120 Accusers Come Forward
Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a wave of new sexual misconduct allegations, with over 120 accusers stepping forward. At a press conference on Tuesday, Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee announced he is representing these individuals, whose claims span more than two decades.
“We will expose the enablers who allowed this conduct behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates,” Buzbee stated during the conference. He added, “The biggest secret in the entertainment industry, that really wasn’t a secret at all, has finally been revealed to the world. The wall of silence has now been broken.”
Andrew Van Arsdale, another attorney representing the plaintiffs, told The Washington Post that the forthcoming lawsuits are “unprecedented in scope” and involve allegations from both men and women, aged between 9 and 38 at the time of the incidents. Van Arsdale indicated that 120 individual lawsuits would be filed across New York, Los Angeles, and Miami in the coming weeks.
Previewing the evidence, Buzbee hinted at “many powerful people… many dirty secrets” and revealed his team has “collected pictures, video, texts.” He also mentioned that more than 3,000 people had come forward to his office with accusations against Combs.
The new civil claims include “violent sexual assault or rape, facilitated sex with a controlled substance, dissemination of video recordings, and sexual abuse of minors.” Buzbee noted that 62% of the claimants are African American, with accusations involving incidents as early as 1991, including 25 minors, the youngest of whom was nine years old.
Additionally, the New York Post reported a sexually explicit video of Combs with another A-list celebrity is allegedly being “shopped around.”
Combs, 54, has been in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since pleading not guilty on September 17 to federal charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. Prosecutors allege he used his “power and prestige” to coerce female victims into drug-fueled sexual performances with male sex workers, known as “Freak Offs.” Combs has denied the charges, and his attorney maintains his innocence as he awaits trial.
