Rivers State Judiciary: Call For Expressions Of Interest/Application For Appointments As Rivers State High Court Judge
The Rivers State Judicial Service Commission has called on interested lawyers to submit Expressions of Interest and applications for appointment as Judge of the High Court of Rivers State, pursuant to Rule 3 of the 2014 Revised Guidelines for the Appointment of Judicial Officers of All Superior Courts of Record in Nigeria.
According to the notice dated 26th July, 2021 and sighted by TML (The Metro Lawyer), this call follows the announcement of vacancies in the office of Judge of the High Court of Rivers State Judiciary.
The application which should accompany a detailed curriculum vitae must reach the Commission on or before 4 p.m.on Monday the 9th day of August 2021, and should be addressed to:

Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
- candidate must be a legal practitioner in Nigeria and must have been so qualified for a period not less that ten (10) years with considerable knowledge and experience in the practice of law.
- candidate must be of good character and reputation with strong traits of diligence, hardwork, honesty, integrity, sound knowlegeof law and consistence to professional ethics;
- candidate must have:
- active successful practice at the Bar, including satisfactory presentation of cases in court as a legal practitioner either in private practice or as a legal officer in any public service; and/or
- satisfactory and consistent display of sound and mature judgment in the office as a Chief Registrar or Chief Magistrate; and/or
- credible record of teaching law, legal research in a reputable University and publication of legal works.
