President Trump Announces Plan To Dismiss Thousands Of White House Staff
U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed plans to fire thousands of White House staff and appointees from the previous administration who, according to him, do not align with his “Make America Great Again” vision.
The announcement was made via Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, where he confirmed a sweeping shakeup, starting with the dismissal of several senior officials.
In his post, Trump stated:
“Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again. Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more coming soon.”
He specifically named:
Jose Andres, from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition
Mark Milley, from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council
Brian Hook, from the Wilson Center for Scholars
Keisha Lance Bottoms, from the President’s Export Council
Trump ended the announcement with his signature phrase: “YOU’RE FIRED!”
General Mark Milley, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was among those targeted. This comes despite former President Joe Biden granting Milley blanket protection during his final days in office—a move Trump previously criticized, going as far as to say Milley deserved “to be executed.”
John Bass, the acting undersecretary for political affairs, was also among those asked to step aside. His role had been influential across regions, including Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
The announcement marks the beginning of what Trump describes as a major restructuring of the federal government under his administration.
