Renowned Nigerian lawyer and gender rights advocate, Omowumi Ogunrotimi, has won the 2025 Global Citizen Prize in New York City. The award recognizes her exceptional leadership in advancing gender equity and justice across Nigeria.

Notably, she led the movement that influenced the Federal House of Representatives to pass the Anti-Sexual Harassment Bill. She also played a key role in helping 26 sub-national governments adopt localized sexual harassment prevention frameworks.
