NSCDC Kills Four Suspected Terrorists, Repels Attacks In Katsina

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina Command, have killed four suspected terrorists while repelling multiple attacks in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Hamisu, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, revealing that two separate attacks were successfully thwarted by security forces.
Hamisu disclosed that on February 21, suspected armed bandits attempted to invade the permanent site of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) but were confronted by NSCDC operatives stationed at the institution.
“The gallant men of NSCDC attached to the university successfully neutralized three criminals, including the notorious Ayuba Buzaru, who stormed the institution as their route,” he said.
In addition to eliminating the suspects, the operatives rescued three kidnapped victims and recovered rustled goats from the assailants.
On February 23, a joint operation between NSCDC and the police foiled an attack on the Federal Government Special Grains Reserve (Silo) in Darawa.
“The valiant operatives overpowered the criminals, neutralizing one suspected armed bandit, while others fled with gunshot wounds,” Hamisu stated.
He confirmed that the body of the slain suspect was deposited at General Hospital Dutsinma.
The grains reserve has been a target for armed bandits due to its storage of food supplies meant for distribution in Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto states.
NSCDC operatives also dispersed another group of suspected bandits at Gago Village, near Isah Kaita College of Education, Dutsinma.
Reaffirming the agency’s commitment to safeguarding lives and critical infrastructure, Hamisu assured residents that the NSCDC will continue to work with security agencies to ensure the safety of Katsina State and Nigeria at large.
