NSCDC Arrests Teacher For Allegedly Molesting 7-Year-Old Pupil In Osun

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 22-year-old male school teacher, Rufai Akorede, for allegedly molesting a 7-year-old female pupil in Ilesa. Akorede is accused of thrusting his manhood into the victim’s mouth in a classroom after school hours.
Investigation and Charges
Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo ordered a discreet investigation into the incident as soon as it was reported. The probe revealed that Akorede began molesting the girl in 2024. In his confessional statement, Akorede admitted to asking the victim to close all windows in a classroom and then committing the act. A second incident occurred on March 20, 2025, after school hours, where he pressed the girl’s buttocks.
The NSCDC arraigned Akorede before the Magistrate Court in Ilesha on March 26, 2025. He pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge and was remanded at the correctional centre in Ilesha. The matter has been adjourned for trial.
Warning Against Child Abuse
The Osun NSCDC boss strongly warned individuals engaging in such heinous acts to desist, emphasizing that failure to do so will result in severe consequences. This arrest underscores the NSCDC’s commitment to protecting children and ensuring justice for victims of abuse.
