Nko/Onyeadama Crisis: IDPs Extol NASS Aide, Usani Larry Eteng For Donating Relief Materials

Internally displaced persons(IDPs) in the Ugep IDP camp have extolled Mr Usani Larry Eteng for his prompt provision of relief materials to ameliorate their pain over the displacement from their homes, no thanks to the renewed Nko/Onyeadama crisis which has left several Nko indigenes killed, maimed and many homeless.
Mr Eteng, a staff of National Assembly visited the camp earlier this week with bags of rice, noodles, toiletries, clothes and other relief materials for the IDPs who were amazed by the benefactor’s philanthropic gesture describing it as “divine intervention from God”.
Several IDPs who pleaded anonymity continued to praise Usani Larry even after he had left the camp as they stocked his relief materials with unprecedented joy. “He has given us a reason to at least smile. He is a good man and God will bless him”, one of them said.
Another IDP told reporters present during the visit that Usani was one of the few among many with a heart of gold. “He might not have so much. There are many others who have more than him. But he came all the way from Abuja to give us these relief materials. Only someone with a heart of gold can do this. God will bless him abundantly.”
“To give, especially under this hard economy is not an easy choice and for the urgency with which he has responded to our predicament shows that he[Usani] is a good man. We received all his relief materials with thanks and pray to God to replenish his pocket”, an aged IDP said.
Presenting the items,Mr Usani Larry encouraged the IDPs to be of good cheer as he noted that God has a reason for allowing any circumstances to come in the way of his children. “God knows best why He allowed this to happen and I am sure you all will come out of this stronger. Please accept my widow’s mite. By God’s grace, I will come back again very soon”, Usani encouraged.
Speaking with reporters present during his visit, Usani Larry condemned this age long crisis that has degenerated into this, resulting in the loss of innocent lives and property and totally disrupting the Yakurr socio-economic system. He pointed out that this development has put untold pressure on the little social amenities in all other Yakurr communities especially Ugep which is accommodating the larger percentage of the displaced persons.
