Nigerian Political Hypocrisy Of Comparison And Mental Dysmenorrhea By Olufemi Bisuga, Esq.

Anytime I come with big English, just know that my intentions are not good.
Now I have come across several comparisons, mostly Anambra and Lagos, their sole aim is to praise one and the other is to ridicule. This comes most times from very educated people. Since Shetima spoke at the Nigerian Bar AGC they have often included Borno state in the series of comparisons.
The comparisons are more often tainted with malice aforethought and empty. They compare the current situation of both states (i.e. Lagos and Anambra) to make it look as if both Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Peter Obi are still in power in their various states. They in one breath praise BAT for projects done by his successors but they won’t dare do the same for the opposing sides. Tell them to compare their respective years in government then this mental dysmenorrhea starts. lols.
Ask them how many bridges did Tinubu build whilst he was in power and how many did Peter Obi build when he was also in power. Or try to compare their respective projects during their various tenures, then they turn it to insults. To preach a Tinubu they have to rely on projects executed by his successors just to beat the giant strides Peter Obi did or left behind during his 8 years tenure.
The one I usually laugh about is sharing the pictures of what Oshodi in Lagos looked like in 1999 when Tinubu took over and the current situation of the place in 2022, as if Tinubu has been in Power for the last 24 years.
Now, you see another one that shows their hypocrisy is preaching how Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ensured strictly he determines his successors showing a clear use of despotic powers but are angry why Peter Obi never gets involved in the election of his successors allowing democratic movements and policies to take place. They see this godfatherism as a plus and their hypocrisy won’t allow you to talk about the bad part of it.
Unfortunately, this is the stock in trade of people who should use their brain to look at both sides of issues.
You see I don’t have any problem with any aspirants or political parties (except for how APC has managed this country in the last 7 years. I can be swayed at any time. I don’t have any allegiance or loyalty to anyone. We want a better Nigeria because we are at the tether’s end!! If tomorrow BAT does a live interview and gives practical solutions to the problems pervading Nigeria, forget my support for Peter Obi today, I will pitch my tent with anyone who can take us to promise land without looking at other indices. What we need now is someone who has a practical approach to the resolution of everything wrong with us as a country, notwithstanding his record (s).
Insha Allah may the best man win. God bless Nigeria.
