Nigerian Lecturer Set To Break World Record For 150 Hours Of Lecturing

2023 might be the year for Nigerians to take over the Guinness World Records.

Hilda Baci was still basking in her feat after cooking for 100 hours when Damilola Adeparusi embarked on 150 hours of cooking, which she accomplished.

But then, it seemed Hilda’s inspiration was the match that kindled the flame that spurred Nigerians into a frenzy for record-breaking.

A computer science lecturer with the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Joshua Hassan is set for an ACA-A-THON event for the longest duration of lecturing, currently set at 150 hours.

The date for the academic to attempt this record is October 16, 2023. The title is currently being held by Arvind Mishra (India) at Graphic Era University, in Dehradun, India, who lectured for 139 hr 42 min 56 sec from 1 to 7 March 2014. The lecture topic was on scientific computation.

Since its inception in 1955, the Guinness Book of World Records recognises and publishes human achievements and the extremes of the natural world.
