Nigerian-Born Abayomi Whint Sworn In As Judge In New York

Abayomi Whint, a Nigerian-born legal expert, has made history as she was sworn in as a judge for the Kings County New York Civil Court.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at Brooklyn Law School, attended by family, friends, and well-wishers. Whint was among eight candidates elected as judges in Brooklyn during the November 2024 elections, after receiving a nomination from Brooklyn district leaders.
With over 20 years of experience in the public sector, Whint has built an impressive career as a litigator, certified mediator, and arbitrator, specializing in conflict resolution. Beyond her legal expertise, she has played a vital role in organizational leadership, advocating for inclusivity, team building, and restorative justice practices.
