Nigeria Police Force Reaffirms Free Tracking Of Lost Items

The Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has clarified that tracking lost items through any police division is free.
Adejobi made the statement on X, responding to a user who alleged being asked to pay ₦60,000 to track a lost phone in Ogun State.
He emphasized that the police headquarters has a department dedicated to tracking lost items at no cost but noted the department’s heavy workload may require patience. He also acknowledged concerns from others about payments for such services.
