Nigeria’s Most Respected Lawyer, Afe Babalola, SAN Endorses Afam Osigwe SAN As Next NBA President [PHOTOS]

In a significant endorsement, Aare Afe Babalola SAN, a revered figure in Nigeria’s legal profession and founder of Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), has declared Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe SAN as the next President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The declaration was made in Ado-Ekiti when Mazi Osigwe and his campaign team visited Aare Babalola as part of Osigwe’s campaign tour. Aare Babalola emphasized the need for the NBA to restore public confidence in the judiciary through genuine advocacy for the rule of law.

Mazi Osigwe SAN was warmly received by members of the Ekiti State Bar, who hosted him with enthusiasm and admiration.

The day was marked by a series of consultative visits, including stops in Ile-Ife, Oyo, and Abeokuta, culminating in a vibrant gathering of Ekiti lawyers. Osigwe’s arrival at the “Ekiti Lawyers Hangout with Afam” was met with excitement and jubilation.

In his address, Osigwe highlighted his successful tenure as Chairman of the Abuja Branch and General Secretary of the NBA. He outlined his vision for the NBA, focusing on protecting lawyers from security agencies, enhancing the Bar’s reputation, and reclaiming the Bar’s voice without turning it into an opposition party. He stressed the importance of lawyer welfare and inclusivity across all branches.

The event, which featured over a hundred lawyers from various branches, was filled with dancing, dining, and robust discussions. The unanimous support for Osigwe was evident, with senior lawyers praising his longstanding contributions to the Bar and young lawyers appreciating his impactful initiatives.

The climax of the visit was a meeting with Aare Afe Babalola SAN at the Afe Babalola University. Welcomed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Smaranda Olarinde, Osigwe met with Aare Babalola, who unequivocally endorsed him as the next NBA President. Aare Babalola reiterated the importance of the Bar in restoring hope in the judiciary through steadfast rule of law advocacy.

Mazi Afam Osigwe concluded his visit to Ado-Ekiti and continued his campaign tour to Ondo town in Ondo State, accompanied by supporters from Ekiti.
