Niger Chief Judge Approves Official Seals For Magistrates
The Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, has authorized the use of official seals for magistrates across the state, in line with the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) 2022.
This development was announced in a press release on Monday by the Chief Registrar of the Niger State High Court, Hajiya Amina Musa Saidu. She clarified that the seals, personalized with each magistrate’s name, designation, and the inscription “The Magistrate Court of Niger State,” are intended to bolster the authenticity and security of documents issued by magistrates, including judgments, rulings, and orders.
“This seal shall be kept under each magistrate’s custody for use as required by the ACJL or any other applicable law,” Saidu stated, noting that the seals would serve to authenticate all official documents issued by the magistrates.
The Chief Registrar explained that the introduction of official seals is in compliance with Section 6B (3), (4), and (5) of the Niger State ACJL, aiming to reinforce credibility in the state’s judicial documentation process.
