NIDCOM Congratulates Nigerians Excelling In UK Politics

 

The Chairman and CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Nigerians who recently won elections in the United Kingdom. The announcement came in a message released by Gabriel Odu from NIDCOM’s Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit.

Dabiri-Erewa specifically applauded Princess Opeyemi Bright and Cllr. Jason Utitofon Jackson for making history. Bright became the youngest Mayor of the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, while Jackson was elected as the first Black Mayor of Islington.

She also praised Cllr. Sunny Lambe for advancing from Councillor to Mayor of Southwark. Additionally, Dr. Adekunle Osibogun was re-elected as a Councillor for both Buckinghamshire Council and Buckingham Town Council.

The NIDCOM Chairman described these victories as record-breaking milestones. She said their achievements demonstrate dedication, resilience, determination, and an unwavering drive for success.

Dabiri-Erewa encouraged the winners to maintain their resilient spirit as they serve their communities. She prayed for God’s protection, strength, and guidance in their new roles. She also urged them to continue giving their best in discharging their duties.

These achievements highlight the increasing influence of Nigerians in diaspora politics. NIDCOM expressed pride in the success of these individuals who represent Nigerian excellence abroad.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigerians worldwide in leadership positions. It noted that these milestones inspire younger Nigerians to pursue excellence in politics and public service.

NIDCOM also emphasized the importance of collaboration between Nigerians in diaspora and local institutions to promote shared goals. These successes mark an important chapter for Nigeria’s global diaspora community.
