New Leadership Of African Bar Association Inaugurated In Lusaka, Zambia [PHOTOS]
On Thursday, October 31, 2024, the African Bar Association (AfBA) concluded its annual conference in Lusaka, Zambia, with the inauguration of its new leadership. The ceremony was attended by esteemed legal figures from across the continent, who gathered to witness the swearing-in of Chief Ibrahim Eddie Mark (Life Bencher) as the new AfBA President.
The event saw notable guests, including Mrs. Bridget Iwinose Gold, Company Secretary and Legal Adviser of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); Afam O. Okeke, Esq., immediate past Chairman of the NBA, Abuja branch (Unity Bar); and Rudolf Ezeani, Esq., taking photos with the incoming AfBA President.
Mr. Hannibal Egbe Uwaifo, the outgoing AfBA President, also offered his congratulations to Chief Ibrahim Eddie Mark on his new role, extolling the virtues of his successor.
Other key appointments included Mohammed Ndanyako, SAN, as the new AfBA Vice President for Budget and Finance, and Rudolf Ezeani, Esq., who will serve as Vice President, Administration and Executive Secretary.
Hon. Justice Oyebisi F. Omoleye, JCA, the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Akure Division, also graced the occasion, alongside Chief Anthony Ojukwu, Executive Secretary of Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission.
The newly inaugurated team expressed their commitment to advancing AfBA’s mission to promote the rule of law, human rights, and legal practice standards across Africa.
