NDLEA Arrests Lekki, Italy-Based Businessman Over Drug Shipments To Nigeria, Europe

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested Arokodare Damil Ebenezer. He is a Lekki-based businessman and proprietor of Damillionz Takeout, for allegedly trafficking illicit drugs from the United States to Nigeria.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi stated that operatives apprehended Ebenezer, 43, on March 24, 2025, at Bay Lounge, Admiralty Way, Lekki, as he allegedly prepared to receive a new drug shipment. His arrest followed the interception of his cargo—containing 60 parcels of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis—by NDLEA operatives on March 12 at a logistics company in Lagos.
Following his apprehension, authorities searched his Lekki residence, recovering 94 grams of the same substance, cannabis crusher, and other drug paraphernalia. The total weight of the confiscated drugs amounted 32.24 kilograms. During interrogation, Ebenezer admitted to engaging in drug trafficking since 2017.
Italy-Based Businessman Caught Smuggling Tramadol
In a related incident, NDLEA officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, intercepted Omoruyi Terry. An Italy-based businessman, attempting to smuggle 1,400 pills of Tramadol 225mg, weighing 800 grams, to Italy.
Omoruyi was stopped at the screening point of Terminal 2 while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight. Investigations revealed that he is a frequent traveler and logistics agent involved in illicit drug trade.
NDLEA has reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking. They ensure that individuals engaged in illegal drug activities are brought to justice.
