NBA Women Forum Supports Taraba Lawyer With N300,000 Legal Research Grant

In a bid to promote gender equality and empower female legal professionals, the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF) has awarded a one-year subscription to the Nigeria Weekly Law Reports—valued at N300,000—to Barr. Luis Ojoho Ishaya, a female lawyer based in Taraba State.
Presenting the grant, NBAWF National Chairperson Princess Huwaila Ibrahim Muhammad highlighted the initiative’s aim to enhance legal research, improve productivity, and encourage women to thrive in the legal profession. Barr. Ishaya, who recently established her own law firm, was recognized for her dedication and ambition in a traditionally male-dominated field.
Barr. Nana Ganki Hassan, Taraba State Women Lead of the NBAWF, reiterated that the support aligns with the Forum’s mission to provide mentorship, advocacy, and capacity-building opportunities for women in law.
Commending the initiative, Taraba NBA Chairman, Barr. Martin Milkman, emphasized the importance of such support in inspiring more female lawyers to pursue excellence.
Barr. Ishaya expressed heartfelt gratitude for the grant, describing it as a significant boost to her legal practice. She pledged to utilize the resources effectively while mentoring young female lawyers to advance their careers.
