NBA Welfare Secretary, Nyada Calls On Lawyers To Support Colleagues Affected By Maiduguri Floods
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has initiated a relief campaign to support colleagues impacted by the devastating floods in Maiduguri, Borno State. In response to the crisis, NBA President has established a two-person committee tasked with coordinating relief efforts. The committee includes Nyada Auta, NBA Welfare Secretary, and Ehi Barnabas Henry, Assistant General Secretary.
Nyada Auta, in a statement, highlighted the severe impact of the floods on NBA members in Maiduguri. “The situation is quite dire, and we have embarked on a massive awareness campaign to encourage support for our affected colleagues,” Auta said.
Leading by example, the NBA President has made a significant donation and sent a delegation to Maiduguri to assess the situation on the ground and offer condolences to those affected. Other members have also begun contributing, but more support is urgently needed.
“Our humanity must shine brightest in times of need,” Auta urged, calling on NBA members to participate in the relief campaign. “Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference.”
Donations can be made to the NBA North-East Support Account at Access Bank, Account Number: 0780027440.
