NBA Ungogo Demands Justice For 16 Northern Travelers Killed In Edo

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ungogo Branch in Kano State has strongly condemned the killing of 16 northern travelers in Edo State, calling it a blatant violation of human rights.

In a statement released on Monday, the branch chairman, Ahmad A. Gwadabe, described the incident as “gruesome and unacceptable.” He emphasised the need for swift justice.

“We are appalled and deeply disturbed by the murder of innocent travelers who were simply passing through the state. This act goes against the principles of humanity and decency,” Gwadabe stated.

The NBA called on the Edo State Government and security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure the perpetrators face justice.

“We demand immediate and decisive action to hold those responsible accountable,” Gwadabe added.

Furthermore, the association also urged the government to compensate the victims’ families. And implement measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Gwadabe affirmed that lawyers remain committed to upholding the rule of law and promoting justice for all citizens, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or place of origin.

The statement urged affected families to remain law-abiding while justice is pursued. He concluded with a call for calm.
