NBA President, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau Constitutes National Officers’ Election Appeal Committee

In a bid to ensure transparency and fairness in the upcoming National Bar Association (NBA) elections, President Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau has announced the constitution of the National Officers’ Election Appeal Committee. This committee, once ratified by the National Executive Council (NEC), will play a pivotal role in addressing electoral complaints and disputes.
Headed by Mr. Usman Ogwu Sule, SAN, the committee comprises notable legal luminaries including Mrs. Folashade Alli, SAN (Alternate Chairman), Dr. Agada John Elachi, SAN, Adizua Okoroafor, Esq, Matthew Osume, Esq, Amina Senchi (Mrs), and Stella Omoikhefe Owu (Secretary).
The primary mandate of the committee is to receive and resolve any grievances arising from the election process for both National Officers and representatives of the NBA in the General Council of the Bar.
Expressing gratitude to the appointed members, President Maikyau commended their commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process within the NBA.
The notice of the constitution of the committee has been circulated for reference by the National Publicity Secretary of the NBA, Mr Akorede Habeeb Lawal, signifying a proactive step towards ensuring a smooth and credible election process within the association.
