NBA President Pays Condolence Visit To Late Prof. Akanbi’s Family

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr Y. C Maikyau, OON SAN paid a condolence visit to the family of late Prof Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi, SAN at his residence in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Metro Lawyer (TML) recalls that the late Professor was, until his recent passing on, the Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University.

Y. C Maikyau embarked on the visit with his entourage drawn from the Ilorin and Offa branches of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and in giving his condolence message to the family, said that Prof Akanbi was like a younger brother to him and recounted their long time relationship.

“We have lost a very important person in the NBA and we came to express our heart felt condolences. Only God Almighty can fill that void and comfort you”, he told the family.

A senior lawyer present, Professor Adam recalled some of the achievements of Prof Akanbi and his philanthropy to the society. He prayed that God will be with Prof’s wife who he had always been very close to, adding that the late Akanbi was a very accommodating and loving man, who believed in the growth of people notwithstanding background and ethnicity affiliation.

He also prayed for the success of the present NBA administration, stating that the family appreciates the show of fellowship and friendship; that even though the family feels the loss greatly, this particular visit shows that the NBA identifies with the deceased and the gesture is well appreciated.
