NBA Damaturu Branch Swears In New Executives, Emphasises Unity And Service

 

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Damaturu Branch has inaugurated new executives to lead the association for the next two years.

The swearing-in ceremony was held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in Damaturu, drawing members of the legal community and guests from across Yobe State.

Barrister Ahmad Khalil officially took over as Chairman, succeeding Barrister Altine Ibrahim, who completed her term. Other executives sworn in include Barr. Ahmed Mohammed as Vice Chairman and Barr. Abba Maina as Secretary.

Additional members include Barr. Ali Kadai (Assistant Secretary), Barr. Maryam Bamai (Treasurer), Barr. Abdulmalik Isa (Financial Secretary), Barr. Idriss Suleiman (Welfare Officer), Barr. Muhammad Bukar (Publicity Secretary), and Barr. Baba Nuhu (Provost).

In her farewell address, the outgoing Chairperson, Barr. Altine Ibrahim, thanked members for their cooperation during her time in office.

“I am proud of the progress we made together. I believe the new team will do even better,” she said.

She described the occasion as “the end of a fulfilling chapter and the start of another exciting journey for NBA Damaturu.”

In his inaugural remarks, Barrister Khalil pledged to promote inclusion, professionalism, and the welfare of all members.

“This is a call to serve, not a title. We must work together to strengthen NBA Damaturu for all members,” he stated.

Several guests commended the peaceful transition and urged the new leadership to build on the achievements of the previous executive.

“This smooth handover reflects the unity in NBA Damaturu. We expect nothing less than excellence from this new team,” a senior lawyer in attendance noted.

The NBA Damaturu Branch continues to play a key role in promoting legal development and justice across Yobe State. Members expressed optimism about the new leadership’s capacity to advance the branch’s vision.
