NBA Condemns Brutal Murder Of Member Lucky Nonso Emeh, Esq., Demands Justice

 

 

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has expressed profound shock and outrage over the tragic assassination of Lucky Nonso Emeh Esq. from the Aba Branch. Emeh was murdered by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Aba, Abia State, on September 2, 2024.

A statement signed by NBA’s National Publicity Secretary, Bridget Ijeoma Edokwe, Esq., on September 5, 2024 described this gruesome act as a severe attack on the legal profession and a blatant disregard for justice and human life. She stated that the NBA condemns the killing in the strongest terms and calls on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into this crime. Also, the NBA urges authorities to spare no effort in identifying and prosecuting those responsible for this heinous act.

She said the association is committed to ensuring that those behind this murder face full legal consequences. The NBA leadership in Aba is instructed to collaborate closely with the police and the victim’s family to facilitate a comprehensive investigation, emphasising that the NBA will monitor the progress of the investigation closely and reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding the rights and safety of its members and the public.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Lucky Nonso Emeh, and to the entire NBA Aba Branch. We understand the pain and sorrow that this tragic loss has caused and urge all members to remain strong during this difficult time. The NBA stands with you and will provide all necessary support to ensure that justice is served. May the soul of Lucky Nonso Emeh rest in peace,” Edokwe concluded.
