NBA AGC 2025 To Spotlight Sports And Entertainment Law With Top Legal Experts

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the lineup for the “Expounding Sports and Entertainment Law” session at its 2025 Annual General Conference.
Olabamiji Adeyeye will moderate the session. Adeyeye is a bilingual legal practitioner with expertise in commercial and intellectual property law. He specializes in dispute resolution and arbitration, with past roles in Aelex Legal Practitioners and Arbitrators and Dele Adesina LP, where he led teams.
He has advised clients on major transactions and regulatory compliance. Adeyeye is committed to strengthening business structures for Nigeria’s entertainment and media industry. He belongs to the NBA Section on Business Law and the NBA Sports and Entertainment Law Committee.
Beverley Agbakoba-Onyejianya, an award-winning lawyer in the sports, entertainment, and technology industries, will speak at the session. She founded the Lagos Tigers Sports Academy in 2012 and a women’s social network called Gratia Fidelis Caritas. Agbakoba-Onyejianya runs the SET Growth Capsule, a legal tech accelerator for founders at OAL, and regularly advises clients in sports, technology, film, and business sectors.
Another speaker, Osaruyi Ayela-Uwangue, joined Alegeh and Co. as an associate in 2014. Called to the Bar in 2012, Ayela-Uwangue focuses on civil litigation, commercial law, and corporate practice.
Also on the panel is Christian Aniukwu, Managing Partner at Stren & Blan Partners. He leads the firm’s intellectual property prosecutions, data protection, and corporate services groups. Aniukwu is known for his expertise in brand protection, IP portfolio management, and anti-counterfeiting for both local and international clients.
The session is expected to explore evolving legal issues in sports and entertainment. Organizers say it will also highlight opportunities for lawyers to contribute to industry growth in Nigeria and beyond.
