My Final Thoughts As You Vote This Saturday By YC Maikyau, SAN

I hope this meets you well. Over the last few weeks, I have sent to you several emails regarding my aspiration to serve you as the 31st President of the Nigerian Bar Association (“NBA”) when the tenure of the Olumide Akpata-led administration ends in about six weeks. The general elections that would usher in a new administration will be held this Saturday (16th July, 2022).
On the directives of the Electoral Committee of the NBA, electioneering campaigns will end at midnight today and so, I thought it fit to send this last email to remind you about what I represent, and the plans that I have for our great Association.
As you would see in my profile, manifesto and all the materials that I have shared with you, I have the track record, passion and vision required to move our Association forward, continue with, and improve on, the laudable policies of the current administration of the NBA.
My overall ambition is to contribute my quota towards building an Association that would not only compete with its peers globally but would be of immense benefit to our members and the society. An association that would be value-adding and that we all will remain proud of.
So, when voting begins on Saturday 16th July, 2022, remember that the power to transform our profession, and keep our Association on the right track lies in your ballot and I implore you to cast that vote for me as the next President of the NBA.
I thank you for your support thus far and look forward to building, with you, a DYNAMIC, better and improved NBA.
Sincerely,
Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN.
