Maikyau, S.A.N., Other Legal Heavyweights To Tackle Judiciary’s Financial Autonomy At NBA Lagos Law Week

Five legal profession heavyweights are set to dissect the nagging dispute over the financial autonomy of the Judiciary. The panel discussion will hold at the 5th plenary session of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos branch Law Week.
The session which is themed “Financial Autonomy of the Judiciary: Key to Judicial Independence or Ruse” is set to take place on the 27th of July, at the Shell Hall of the MUSON centre in Lagos.
The panel is expected to focus on the recent clamour for financial autonomy for the judiciary and examine whether it will deliver the much-desired judicial independence.
Panelists for the session are: Chairman Welfare Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association and member of the Panel of Conciliators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment, Y.C Maikyau (SAN), Hon. Justice Iyizoba (Rtd), Hon. Justice Babajide Candide-Johnson (Rtd), Attorney General of Ekiti State and Adviser, China Africa Legal Exchange Programme – Olawale Fapohunda and Partner with Olasupo Shonibare, a Lagos based Law firm – Ayo Obe.
The event will be moderated by Professor Konyinsola Ajayi SAN.
