Libyan Police Arrest Nigerian Man For Possession Of Alleged Witchcraft Items

 

 

Authorities in Libya have arrested a Nigerian man in Barqan Al-Shati for allegedly possessing items linked to sorcery.

The Tamsan Police Department made the arrest during a routine check, according to a statement shared by Migrant Rescue Watch on X (formerly Twitter). The group reported that the suspect, identified only as “M.A.,” was found with items believed to be related to sorcery.

The case has been referred to the public prosecution for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The statement from Migrant Rescue Watch read, “Tamsan Police Dept. arrested in Barqan Al-Shati a person ‘M.A.’ of Nigerian nationality for possession of sorcery paraphernalia.”

No additional details about the suspect or the nature of the alleged items have been disclosed.
