Libya Deports 13 Migrants, Including Seven Nigerians, For Legal Violations
Libya has deported 13 migrants, including seven Nigerians, for violating national laws, according to an announcement by Migrant Rescue Watch (MRW) on the social platform X on November 12. The deportation was conducted by the Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) at the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Center in Benghazi.
The group included seven Nigerians, three Bangladeshis, and three Ghanaians, who were expelled via Benina International Airport as Libyan authorities intensify measures to curb illegal migration. The DCIM has increased deportation operations, working with international bodies such as Frontex to manage the growing migrant crisis.
Libya, a major transit point for migrants aiming to reach Europe, is prioritizing legal enforcement and security measures to address migration challenges.
