Lawyers Launch AI Tool To Revolutionize Legal Practice In Nigeria
In a move set to transform legal practice in Nigeria, two lawyers have introduced an artificial intelligence platform known as Case Radar. Designed to simplify legal processes and improve access to legal information, the platform was unveiled at a launch event in Abuja on Friday.
Speaking at the event, co-founder Agbo Obinnaya explained that the inspiration for Case Radar came from his own struggles with legal research during his time as a law student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, and later as a practicing lawyer.
“Legal research was a major challenge while I was studying law, and it became even more difficult when I became a lawyer in 2022,” Obinnaya said. “I conducted a survey with over 218 participants and found that many other lawyers were facing the same issues. This feedback shaped the vision for Case Radar and the solutions it offers.”
The platform, which incorporates AI technology, provides a range of services, including legal advice, case law summaries, legal research tools, and an interface that connects clients with lawyers for court-related matters. According to Obinnaya, the tool is designed to democratise access to legal knowledge and make legal services more efficient and accessible.
“We are giving the public access to legal knowledge and services, so they can understand the law on specific issues and easily connect with lawyers,” he explained. “Case Radar is about making legal practice more efficient and modernizing how law is practiced in Nigeria.”
Obinnaya emphasized that the AI platform is a game-changer for the Nigerian legal system, offering quick and accurate legal insights while reducing costs and improving efficiency. He noted that Case Radar is poised to reshape the legal profession for the digital age.
“Our platform isn’t just about making legal services more accessible—it’s about transforming the way legal work is done,” Obinnaya added. “This is only the beginning of what’s possible in legal tech, and the response so far has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Lawyers in attendance at the launch praised the platform for its potential to simplify legal work, particularly in areas like litigation and legal research.
Chisom Chukwu, an Abuja-based lawyer, noted how challenging legal research had been for her in the past. “Legal drafting and research have always been time-consuming and exhausting. With this digital tool, I believe those days are behind us,” she said.
Another lawyer, Emmanuel Ebuka, commented on the broader impact of the platform. “This tool elevates the routine aspects of our work to a whole new level. It’s going to be especially useful for those who want to stay updated on the latest developments in the legal field,” he said.
The introduction of Case Radar reflects a growing trend of tech solutions entering Nigeria’s legal space. These innovations are helping both legal professionals and citizens better navigate the country’s legal system.
