Lawyer Remanded For Alleged Murder And Court Disruption

An Abakaliki Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ebonyi State has remanded a lawyer, Sunday Ununu, in custody for alleged murder and disrupting court proceedings.
Ununu, 45, was arraigned on Friday on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and the murder of Nnamdi Nwite-Ugo, an offense reportedly committed on August 21 in Agbaja-Unuhu, Abakaliki Local Government Area.
During the court session, Ununu disrupted proceedings by shouting and leaving the dock without following proper court procedures. In response, Magistrate Ojemba Isu-Oko ordered his remand at a correctional center and adjourned the case until September 20 for hearing.
According to prosecutor ASP Eze Ndubuaku, the lawyer allegedly shot and killed Nwite-Ugo, an act in violation of Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code and Section 11 of the Ebonyi State Internal Security Enforcement Law.
