Lagos Judiciary Can Provide Legal Aid To Students With Disabilities- Lagos CJ

The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba, has said the state judiciary will support students in Bethesda Home for the Blind with legal assistance.

Alogba was quoted to have said this in a statement on Thursday during a courtesy visit by students and members of staff of BHB to his office in Ikeja.

He said, “I want to encourage the management of BHB to approach the judiciary for legal assistance on infringement of the rights of its students due to their physical disabilities or any other issues bordering on their fundamental human rights.

“The judiciary is the last hope for the common man. Here in Lagos State judiciary, we will ensure accountability and other improvements in the delivery of justice through the enforcement of rules and standards, and the development of an independent justice system committed to reform, working in conjunction with other justice stakeholders.”

The founder of BHB, Mrs Chioma Ohakwe, said the school would also need the help of the state judiciary for feeding and academic support.
