FULL LIST: Nigerian Judicial Service Commission Nominates 22 New Justices For Elevation To Supreme Court
22 justices of the Court of Appeal have been nominated by the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) to the National Judicial Council (NJC) for potential elevation to the Supreme Court.
This development marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s judiciary system.
The 22 names in the FJSC document, indicate that six of the nominees are from the North-Central region, and two each are from the South-West and the South-South.
While the North-East has two nominees, the South-East region has six as well.
After Justice Amina Augie retired in September 2023, the Supreme Court now had 11 justices on staff.
When Justice Amina attained the obligatory retirement age of 70, she resigned from the bench, bringing the total number of judges at the highest court down to 11.

Finally Justice Tsammani Haruna has been rewarded for his role in the PEPC which he headed. He should not be in the list for being corrupt and corrupting the judiciary.
He should be removed because he has been tainted with corruption by president Tinubu. Other justices are good to go and should be closely monitored.
