Judge Steps Down From Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Case Following Bias Allegation By Akpabio

Justice Obiora Egwuatu, a judge of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has withdrawn from the case involving suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. He is citing allegations of bias raised by Senate President Godswill Akpabio as reason for stepping down.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, Justice Egwuatu announced his recusal after counsels in the case introduced themselves. He stated that Akpabio, the third defendant, had expressed a lack of confidence in the court’s impartiality, prompting his decision to step aside.
Following his withdrawal, the judge confirmed that he would forward the Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan case file to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, for reassignment to another judge.
