In Case You Missed It: Clips From Y.C. Maikyau, SAN’s Session On Channels TV’s Programme, Politics Today
Foremost Nigerian Bar Association Presidential aspirant, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN was invited as a guest this evening on Channels TV’s popular Tuesday evening show, POLITICS TODAY with Seun Okinbaloye.
Maikyau who spoke on the issues bedevilling Nigeria’s judiciary recently, decried the poor remuneration of judicial officers and reiterated the need for the financial autonomy of the judicial arm of government.
He commended the outgone Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Dr I. T. Muhammad for the step he took to resign from office on health grounds, a move which Maikyau noted, is very strange in our clime; while also congratulating the new acting CJN, Hon. Justice Ariwoola whom he described as an intelligent and fine jurist.
