Human Rights Lawyer Dele Farotimi Granted ₦30 Million Bail By Ekiti Court
A Magistrate Court in Ekiti State has granted human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi bail set at ₦30 million.
Appearing under heavy security at the court on December 20, Farotimi faced charges related to criminal defamation stemming from his book, Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun stipulated that Farotimi must provide two responsible sureties, surrender his international passport, and refrain from granting media interviews during the trial. Farotimi was remanded in custody earlier on December 7, 2024.
