HRM Asagba (Prof.) Epiphany Azinge, SAN Lays Foundation For Kingdom’s Permanent Palace In Asaba

His Royal Majesty, Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, has called on the spirited Nigerians to support the multi billion Naira permanent Asagba Palace.
The Asagba of Asaba who made the call on the occasion of ground breaking of the Palace project, said he penciled the building of the Asagba’s Palace as one of his priorities.
According to him, “In the course of my journey to the throne of our forebears, I penciled the building of the Asagba’s Palace as one of my priorities.
”I predicated my promise on the premise that as President General of Asaba Development Union, I had pursued this dream with missionary zeal, enthusiasm and commitment.
“The drawing of Architect Patrick Elikwu gave impetus to our drive to build this Palace and I quickly dusted this architectural drawing upon my ascension to the throne. This made things easier for us to move faster than should be the case and we are happy to be here to break grounds for this multi billion naira project barely 6 months after my coronation as the 14th Asagba of Asaba.”
However, he said, “It was during this period that I commissioned the architectural drawings of this Palace and followed it up to its completion. I am delighted to inform you that our own Son, Architect Patrick Elikwu, did all the architectural drawings free of charge. I give him tremendous credit and commend him as a great son of our land.”
Asagba paid public tribute to his forebear who hitherto worked assiduously for the building of a Palace for the Asagba of Asaba saying that twice, concerted efforts were made, money donated, some structures put in place, but paucity of funds and absence of clear-cut architectural design were major impediments in the pursuit of the objective.
He commended Asaba sons and daughters for queuing solidly behind him and grandly demonstrating support and solidarity beyond expectation. “I am proud of our sons and daughters who tasked themselves and donated generously to this project.
HRM Azinge urged members of the building committee to make transparency and Accountability their watchword.
He thanked Rt. Hon. Ngozi Okolie, member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives for his unwavering support and commitment to the project.
“I note with pride and delight that money donated so far came only from Asaba sons and daughters. No doubt, we may not be able to carry this huge burden alone. We propose to extend our tentacles to friends and well-wishers, public functionaries, business moguls, in-laws, Government officials and public spirited Nigerians both at home and in diaspora to support this Palace project.
The House Representative member, Hon. Nzogi Okolie who single handedly opted to build the pavilion of the complex expressed happiness for the new project and thaked Asagba for the initiative that will make Asaba one indivisible family.
Former Speaker, State House of Assembly also a son of Asaba, Hon. Peter Onwusanya said the new narrative will be kept for generations to come and build a more united Asaba.
Architect Patrick Elikwu who designed the building plan expressed satisfaction that the vision of Asagba since 2021 when he was the PG of Asaba has come to actualization.
