High Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, Endorses Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN For NBA President
In a heartfelt endorsement, High Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, has publicly declared his support for Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe in the upcoming Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) presidential election. Chief Obegolu, a distinguished member of the NBA with an extensive record of service to the association, emphasized the importance of the NBA’s role in promoting the rule of law and holding the government accountable.
“The Nigerian Bar Association is the authentic voice of civil society in Nigeria,” Obegolu stated. “As the country navigates its present challenges, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to the rule of law and the due administration of justice. It is imperative that we make a credible choice in the coming elections of our noble association.”
Drawing on his vast experience, Obegolu outlined his extensive credentials, including his past roles as President and Life Member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, President of the Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU), National General Secretary and National Publicity Secretary of the NBA, and as a member of the Council of Legal Education and the Legal Aid Council. He expressed confidence in his understanding of what it takes to effectively lead the NBA.
With a deep sense of purpose and careful consideration, Obegolu endorsed Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN praising his courage, conviction, and exemplary track record within the NBA. “Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN is a man of courage, a man of conviction. His life story and success in the NBA have given him an intimate understanding of the kind of leadership we need now,” he said. “Mazi Afam Osigwe is a unifier. He will restore the fortunes of our association and stand for what is right at all times. He is dependable, trustworthy, and reliable.”
Obegolu called on lawyers of good conscience to support Osigwe, highlighting his experience and commitment to the values of the NBA. “Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN is the clear candidate in this election. He has the experience to do this job. Nigeria is at a crossroads, and I believe Mazi Afam Osigwe, when elected, will restore the values of our association. The Bar will once again take center stage in standing for the rule of law and fairness in Nigeria.”
In closing, Obegolu urged members of the Nigerian Bar Association to look forward with hope and determination, confident that with Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN the NBA will be in safe hands. “This is not the time to look back, but to look forward with great hope and determination for the future of our association.
