Barely one week after the general election, gunmen had returned to Enugu on Sunday attacking and killing two policemen on duty.
The gunmen were said to have carried out their heinous crime at a police checkpoint along Kenyetta – UNEC road, close to the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC) gate.
The policemen who were on stop and search were said to have been taken unawares as the hoodlums stormed and opened fire on them and at the end had two killed.
Meanwhile, the State Police Command is yet to react to the incident by way of press statement, or oral response from the State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe (DSP).
